MBH Architects, an award-winning architecture and design firm, announced the appointment of Joe Irwin as director of its Denver office. In this role, Irwin will lead the office while continuing to serve as studio director and senior associate.

Joe Irwin combines deep architectural expertise with cutting-edge technological innovation in his practice. With specialized experience spanning multifamily, mixed-use, retail, and restaurant projects, he has distinguished himself through more than a decade of global leadership in fixture design and 3D production. His work implementing 3D printing technologies in architectural practice has earned recognition in Architect Magazine.


Irwin’s comprehensive understanding of fabrication, model making, and modeling software has enabled him to forge successful partnerships with an international network of consultants and vendors, delivering sophisticated fixture solutions for high-profile clients. His portfolio includes notable projects such as the thoughtfully crafted spaces for the Ansel Adams Gallery and Hangar 1 Vodka, where his attention to detail and innovative approach have resulted in distinctive, bespoke environments that elevate the client experience.


As a key contributor to the firm’s continuing education and design technology practice groups, Joe remains at the forefront of evolving retail environments and experiences, regularly participating in international conferences to share insights and stay current with industry developments. His leadership in research and development initiatives continues to shape the future of retail design, while his collaborative approach and technical acumen make him an invaluable mentor within the organization.
